Huge Blue Eye Found: Where Does It Belong?

A huge, softball-sized eyeball has washed up on the shores of Pompano Beach, Fla., and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission has sent it off for study to identify the mystery creature to which it belongs, the Orlando Sentinel is reporting.
All that's known right now about the orb, separated from its owner, is that it's big and it is blue, based on the Sentinel piece.
The commission has shared the photo on its Facebook page, where followers are suggesting everything from a giant squid to Bigfoot.
A man walking on the beach found it yesterday, thought it was cool, and reported it.

Follow up on eye, 16 October:  The huge blue eye was from a large swordfish that had been caught off  Pompano Beach.  The fisherman who caught the swordfish removed the eyes before putting the body on ice.  He had no idea that tossing the eyes overboard would create such a sensation...  especially as only one of the eyes made it to the shore.
