Rocky Mountain National Park Wild Fire

The Fern Lake Fire is burning in Rocky Mountain National Park, just southwest of Estes Park.  The fire was reported at 2 p.m. Tuesday and has burned over 300 acres, near the Ute Trail.  A park spokesperson says they are evacuating campers and hikers from the Moraine Park area.  Bear Lake Road is closed. According to the Coloradoan other area roads are being closed and campers from the Moraine Park Campground are not allowed to return for their camping equipment. The fire is in a heavily forested area. No structures are threatened.
