Lovey is sitting on the back of the sofa, while Nedi is lying on the patio with his back to the three inches of snow that is still on the ground. It's 32 degrees outside, but the sun is shining brightly. I'll soon be headed out to walk Rosie and Remy, and have already made two trips to Nancy's apartment, visiting and feeding Erwin, Kaiko, and Bob. Nancy is visiting her family in New York, but will be back late tomorrow night.
The British Parliament is debating today where the remains of King Richard III should be buried. A lot of hate mail has been sent, which I think is ridiculous. When the archaeological dig began, it was stated that if the remains of the King were found, then the University of Leicester would have the responsibility of deciding where the body would be re interred. The University of Leicester wants the remains buried in Leicester Cathedral, but a great many people believe that Richard should be buried in York, and the MP for York is the person who has introduced the debate in Parliament. It will be interesting to hear the decision.
Meanwhile, in Edinburgh, the burial of a 12th century knight has been found under a car park, also. The tombstone is marked with a cross and a long sword, and has been dated to the 12th century. Scientists plan to run a gamut of tests on the body, trying to determine the knight's age, where he grew up, what he ate, and what caused his death. I think that our technology has reached a fascinating phase when we can determine these things from 1,000 years ago.
In the second day of the Conclave of Cardinals, there is still no clear majority vote for the election of the new Pope...
