Two KY Derby Horses Scratched
This morning, Black Onyx, who was to break from post position 1 in tomorrow's Kentucky Derby, was scratched due to a bone chip in his left ankle. The alternate entry, Fear the Kitten, also scratched, but I have no report as to why. Black Onyx is usually under the care of Dr. Larry Bramlage, but as the Churchill Downs veterinarian was still in the hospital this morning, he has been unable to see, look, and comment on the colt. Dr. Bramlage fell off a golf cart yesterday, and fell head-first onto concrete in the stall area. He was kept at the hospital overnight for observation.
