The Christmas tree itself is mildly toxic - the tinsel, ornaments, and electric lights can be deadly to pets and small children.

Cyclamen plants are extremely toxic to all pets.

Daffodil and narcissus bulbs and leaves are extremely toxic to children and pets.

Holly and mistletoe are moderately to severely toxic to children and pets.  The evergreen needles are mildly toxic, and can cause irritation to the mouth and stomach.

Amaryllis are beautiful; the bulbs and leaves are severely toxic to children and pets.

All parts of the yew tree (or bush)  are highly toxic to children and all pets.

The Jerusalem cherry's fruit looks and tastes like a cherry tomato.  This member of the nightshade family is extremely toxic to any living creature.

The Jequirity bean, the Indian prayer bean, the Rosary pea: by any name this deadly.  Avoid the use of it around children and pets.
