Hoppertunity Out of Kentucky Derby

The second-betting choice of Saturday's Run For the Roses has been withdrawn from the $2 million race.  Hoppertunity has what trainer Bob Baffert hopes is only a bruised left fore foot.  The colt jogged well, but took several "off" steps while cooling out.  His shoe was removed, and he displayed tenderness in his left quarter.  In hopes of running in the Preakness, Hoppertunity was scratched from the Derby.
Pablo Del Monte is the next colt on the eligible list.  His connections - owners and trainer - were discussing whether to enter him or not for Saturday's race.
