Oyster dredgers in Baltimore, Maryland - 1903
(Look young, don't they?  My grandfather was working on a fishing boat at age 5...)

1891 - Crisfield, Maryland - African-Americans found work shucking oysters
in communities surrounding the Chesapeake Bay after the Civil War.
The oyster shell mound the people are posed on is the result of one day's labor.
