For the holidays - Christmas, Saturnalia, Yule, whatever - I want peace on Earth.
I want to find an entire new set of people in the White House, in the Cabinet posts, and in our Congress - both the House of Representatives and the Senate.
(I also want about 100 million dollars.)
I don't think any of this will happen, though.....

Picture This, If You Will... Part 2
When 45 returned to his senses, he asked, "Where are my clothes? I need my clothes."
His response was, "No. You do not need clothing for any reason."
"I need to cover myself - for decency."
A tinkling laugh shook through his cellular structure. "No. You have no decency."
- _ -
"Where is my hair!?!?," 45 suddenly asks, having run his hands over his head.
"You have none. You need none."
45 mutters, "Well, at least it will grow back..."
"No. We have removed all of your so-called 'hair' follicles. We find those eruptions from your pebbly and porous skin... Ummm - disgusting."
"You think hair is disgusting? What do you look like? What kind of m-monster - or thing - are you?"
"Petty little man. You would not survive seeing me. I am all."
- _ -
"Where am I?"
"You are here."
"Where is 'here'?"
"You have not the knowledge to understand, 45."
"How long are you going to keep me here - wherever this is?"
"Until the end."
"The end? The end of what?"
"Until the end. The end of time, as we know it. The end of existence. The end of being."
"Listen to me. I don't know who put you up to this. I don't know who you are. Someone - some...enemy of mine - must have paid you to do this. I will pay you triple - no, wait - make that four times the amount this other person paid you - to let me go. Just let me go - no questions asked. No trouble for you in the future. Just let me go now."
The keeper's amusement nearly knocks him over, flowing through his body.
"What the hell...?"
"You are very predictable, and therefore, quite amusing, 45."
- _ -
"I'm hungry. Do I live on air here?"
"No. You have fresh water to slake your thirst at hand. I will see that a meal is prepared."
"I'm very hungry. I want a 16-ounce sirloin steak, no bone, well-done. I want a large pile of home-made fries, with plenty of salt. I want chocolate cake with chocolate icing for dessert. And do not forget the bottle of ketchup - I need that for both the steak and the fries."
Within a few minutes, a small bright blue panel opens next to the table built into the wall. A small tray appears, with two bowls. Forty-five begins to sputter with rage as he looks at the tray.
"Just what the hell is this... shit?"
"You are grossly obese, 45. You have been placed on a vegan diet while you are here. Perhaps, once you reach your best weight, you may once again partake of your favorite foods."
" I won't eat that... stuff."
"That is entirely up to you, 45. I would think that roughly cut oatmeal would bring back nice childhood memories of your Mother. Of course, this is made with almond milk. Doesn't the fresh fruit look inviting? Strawberries, bananas, orange slices, kiwis, and grapes. It looks good to me."
"I hate that crap. I won't eat it."
"It will be available to you until your next meal time."
"When is that?"
"When I decide, 45."

Nine New Breeders Cup Champions Today
Normally, I bet on the Breeder's Cup races - the past two years, I haven'y had "extra money" to lose, so I didn't bet. Well - rats!
Special thanks to EquiSport Photos/Wendy Wooley for the use of two copyrighted photos!!!
If you've read my blogs about horse racing and betting, you know that I don't like to bet on a favorite, that will give me a low return. There are horses I bet on, even if they are the favorite, because of a wonderful memory or because of a sympathetic story... But I generally avoid placing bets on public favorites. Forever Unbridled is a wonderful memory horse for me, taking me back to the 1990 Kentucky Derby, with trainer Carl Nafzger calling the race for his nearly blind owner, Mrs Frances Genter... Then kissing her full on the mouth when the colt won by 3 1/4 lengths, and declaring to the entire world, "Oh, Ms Genter - I love you!"
I didn't even look at the races to be run yesterday until noon - I read the four listings, and I read the entries, with sires and dams, jockeys and trainers, and post positions. If I had made my usual $2 to win and $2 to place bets, I would have only bet $8 yesterday. The weird thing is that each one of my win choices actually won their race. I would have paid out $8 at the window, and would have received back $59.40 from winning tickets...
I essentially did the same thing today, but I looked at the races, fields, etcetera, at 8 a.m. and scribbled down my choices. Since I had not bet yesterday, I was still strapped for cash today - and did not bet. Sometimes I am just such a sucker for life.... There were 9 races today; I would have placed $20 in bets for win and place showings. Missed out on almost $500, since I didn't make those $2 win , place, and one $2 Perfecta - for Wuheida (GB) and Rhododendron (Ire) in the Fillies and Mares Turf....
The Breeders Cup was the place for long-shot horses today at Del Mar in California. I think the most stupefying return amount was for a $2 Superfecta bet in the Juvenile Fillies Turf - if you chose the correct four horses to finish in order, you won $587,420.00 as your payout from the cashier. (And I'm sure that IRS officials were standing by, too...) Here's a short synopsis and a photo of the winners:
Bar of Gold won the Fillies and Mares Sprint, covering 7 furlongs on the dirt in 1:22.63. The Medaglia d'Oro filly held off Ami's Mesa by a nose at the finish, with Carina Mia in third and Skye Diamonds finishing fourth. Bar of Gold was a 66 to 1 long-shot at the start of the race...

The Turf Sprint was won by Stormy Liberal, a 5-year-old bay gelding by Stormy Atlantic. Richard's Boy was a head behind the winner with Disco Partner another half-length back, and Bucchero finishing fourth. The time was 56.62 seconds for the 5 furlongs. Stormy Liberal was also a long-shot, paying $62.40 for a $2 win ticket...
The 6-furlong Sprint on the main track was won in 1:08.61 by another 5-year-old gelding, Roy H. The son of More Than Ready finished one length in front of Imperial Hint. Mind Your Biscuits ran third, with American Pastime in fourth.....
Good Magic was the winner of the Juvenile Colts race. The chestnut son of Curlin ran the 1 and 1/16 miles in 1:43.34, winning by 4 1/4 lengths, and paying $25 for a $2 win ticket. Solomini ran second, one length ahead of Bolt d'Oro (the betting favorite). Givemeaminit was 8 1/4 lengths behind Bolt d'Oro in fourth. Good Magic had not broken his maiden when he began today's race... What a way to get your first win!!
The Mile Turf was won in the time of 1:34.55 by World Approval, a 5-year-old gelded son of Northern Afleet. The grey was one and 1/4 lengths in front of Lancaster Bomber (my choice), who finished a head in front of Blackjackcat (my second choice), who finished a neck ahead of Suedois (Fr). World Approval was not a long-shot, but the second and third horses were... The $2 Trifecta ticket paid $12,812.40.
Wuheida, a chestnut filly by Dubawi (Ire), won the Fillies and Mares Turf race, covering the 1 1/8 miles in 1:47.91. The sentimental betting favorite was Lady Eli, who was coming back from near-death from laminitis, after stepping on a nail. I bet on Wuheida because of her jockey, William Buick, who returned to the races after breaking a vertebrae last spring. (I also bet on the second horse, mentally.) Wuheida finished a length in front of Rhododendron (Ire), who was 3/4 length ahead of Cambodia, who was a head in front of Dacita (Chile). Lady Eli had bad racing luck, and had be be pulled up several times in close quarters... so sorry for her and her connections.
Long-shot bets continued to win, as Caledonia Road won the Juvenile Fillies Turf under the ride of Mike Smith. The Quality Road filly ran the 1/16 miles in 1:45.05, and won by 3 1/4 lengths. Alluring Star ran second, 1 3/4 lengths in front of Blonde Bomber, who was 1 3/4 lengths in front of Separationofpowers. All of these fillies were long-shots. Caledonia Road paid $36.60; Alluring Star $10.40; and Blonde Bomber $15.20. Add Separationofpowers to a $2 Superfecta, and you get $587,420.00. Yowza.....
The one-and-one-half mile Turf was expected to be a show piece for Ulysses, but the colt had swelling and heat in his fetlock early this morning, and was scratched from the race for medical reasons. The chestnut son of Galileo (both Irish breds) had been the morning-line betting favorite at 7 to 2 odds. Talismanic, a 4-year-old white-faced colt by Medaglia d'Oro, stepped into the breach, winning the Turf by a half-length, having run down Beach Patrol in the stretch. Highland Reel (Ire), who won the Turf last year was third, 1 1/2 lengths in front of Sadler's Joy. Talismanic was ridden by Mickael Barzalona, and is trained by the great Andre Fabre. Talismanic paid $30.20 for a $2 win ticket.
The Breeders Cup Classic, worth $6 million in prize money this year... There were two betting favorites as the race began: Arrogate and Gun Runner. I was secretly rooting for War Story, who has tried so hard the past two years. But Arrogate looked tired to me this morning, in his stall. I admit to betting $2 to win on three horses in this race - both favorites and War Story. The only worry that Arrogate seemed to have was that he had drawn the #1 post position, starting back in the chute before joining the main track. All Mike Smith had to do was get, and keep, him running straight ahead. When the gates opened, Arrogate shied out to the left and lost about 5 lengths in the first two jumps. Gun Runner, on the other hand, broke nicely. The 4-year-old son of Candy Ride (Arg) won the race by 2 1/4 lengths, in a time of 2:01.29. Collected finished second, 1 1/4 lengths ahead of West Coast, who was 1/2 length in front of War Story (fourth). One other eye-opener was that there was a Dead Heat for fifth place - between Arrogate and Gunnevera....
... And NO injuries that I'm aware of....
Breeders Cup Championship Horse Racing - Yesterday and Today
Four new Breeders Cup Champions were crowned yesterday at old Del Mar - Bing Crosby's race track, "where the turf meets the surf...."
The big story for today's racing is that Ulysses has been scratched from the Turf, due to heat and inflammation in a fetlock.
Yesterday, Rushing Fall proved to be the best of the juvenile fillies on the mile turf course. A striking bay filly by More Than Ready, and out of Autumnal, by Forestry, Rushing Fall covered the mile in 1:36.09, under the guidance of Javier Castellano. Best Performance ran second; September (Ire), who walked out of the starting gate, was third; and Significant Form was fourth. Rushing Fall paid $8.00 to win; Best Performance paid $11.80 to place; and September (Ire) paid $4.80 to show. The payout for a $2 Perfecta was $107.40; a $2 Trifecta was $743.20; and the $2 Superfecta paid $3,756.20. The betting favorite, Happily, ran into trouble and had to be checked multiple times, and ended last.
Battle of Midway proved his mettle by winning the Dirt Mile in 1:35.20, under the guidance of jockey Flavien Prat. The 3-year-old son of Smart Strike, out of the Concerto mare Rigoletta, was a contender for this year's Kentucky Derby. Sharp Azteca battled with the winner down the stretch, finishing second by a half-length; he was 4 1/4 lengths in front of Awesome Slew, who was a half-length in front of Practical Joke. Battle of Midway paid $30.40 for a $2 win ticket; Sharp Azteca paid $4 for place; and Awesome Slew paid $7 for show. The $2 tickets for the Perfecta paid $164.20; for the Trifecta, $1,481.20; and for the Superfecta, $5,716.40.

In the Juvenile Turf, Catholic Boy was undefeated at the start. He finished fourth. Mendelssohn ran from the one spot, and finished one length ahead of his nearest competitor, Untamed Domain. The colt, sired by Scat Daddy, and out of Leslie's Lady by Tricky Creek, covered the mile on the turf in 1:35.97. Jockey Ryan Moore was in the saddle, riding with trainer Aidan O'Brian's instructions. Voting Control was third, a head before Catholic Boy. For $2 bets, Mendelssohn paid $11.60 to win; Untamed Domain paid $11 to place; and Voting Control paid $6.20 to show. A $2 Perfect paid $146.60; Trifecta paid $1207.00; and the Superfecta paid $6,413.60.
In the Distaff, Forever Unbridled showed her championship form. The 5-year-old mare, sired by Unbridled's Song, and out of the Lemon Drop Kid mare, Lemons Forever, won the race by a half-length over Abel Tasman. Abel Tasman was three lengths ahead of Paradise Woods, who was a length in front of fourth-place finisher Elate. Trained by Dallas Stewart, there was consternation when it was announced soon before the race, that Joel Rosario, the regular jockey would not be riding the mare. She was guided to this win by veteran jockey John R Velazquez. Forever Unbridled's winning time for the 1 and 1/8 miles on the dirt was 1:50.25. Again, for $2 bets - Forever Unbridled paid $9.40;Abel Tasman paid $5.40; and Paradise Woods paid $3.80. Payout for a $2 Perfecta was $46.80; for a $2 Trifecta, $294.40; and a $2 Superfecta was $741.40.

New Arrival - 45
As a graduate of the New York Military Academy (high school)
Look at his left hand! Feeling up Ivanka, in public, in the 1980s.
Reading the book he wrote for his grandchildren on Air Force One -
Winners Aren't Losers
And the magical flying carpet is about to take off!
Picture This, If You Will.... Part 1
Read this, if you will, with the quiet, understated yet emphatic, voice of the great Rod Serling enunciating the words... ever so carefully.
Deep in the darkness of space, out on one of the farthest-swept vortices of time, there appears a room. A very plain room. It is a cube in shape; ten feet in all dimensions. It is made of deep space ceramics, with no visible seams, no cracks. The cube is flat white in color, and a flat white light seems to emanate from all interior surfaces. There is furniture, of a sort, built into the cube. One can discern the shape of a bed, seemingly supported by a wall. Looking closer, there is a seat ledge beside what could function as a table. In one corner is a small water fountain; opposite is an open latrine for body waste, and a small hand sink. The temperature inside the cube is regulated by the inhabitant's own body temperature.
Our new inhabitant is arriving. Amid scintillating lights, a blue-draped hospital gurney arrives quietly. Everything inside the cube is now dark - there are no visuals to be seen. Then the flat white light reappears. The gurney has disappeared - but it left something rather large on the bed surface. It appears to be a human male, who is grossly obese. As with all humans, detained for any reason, the entire body has been de- and ex-foliated. All so-called "hair" follicles have been removed, and all dead, and/or dying, skin has been removed. Interior cleansing has also been performed, guaranteeing that no cross-contamination can occur. This human is germ-free inside and out - at this point in time.
The give-and-take of New Arrival is always interesting. We will listen in upon this being's introduction into the system. Usually, the in-comer is upset and on alert upon first awakening. First questions are asked; the answers given do not change for anyone. Then the in-comer is angry and defiant, and refuses the truth. Each human is very different in their reactions. Let us see what occurs with this new inhabitant. Oh, here's note from the powers-that-be: This inhabitant is to be called by the number 45. Understood?
*** The following conversations, questions, and answers are portrayed in a compressed time frame, as opposed to a solid flow of time. Breaks in communications between the in-comer are denoted by the symbol - _ - . The in-comer frequently pauses, apparently trying to comprehend the import of answers to his questions. ***
The new in-comer, 45, awakens slowly and sits upon the side of the bed. He realizes he is naked and immediately begins looking for covering. Finding none, he remains seated. Then he rubs his hands over his head and back and forth across his face. Realizing that he has no hair upon his body, as well as no clothing, he decides to confront this calamity.
His reedy voice breaks upon the first two attempts, but he is understandable upon his third try at vocalization: "Hellooo? I know you're watching me."
He seems surprised at the warm voice that responds almost immediately. "Hello. Welcome."
45 asks, "Where am I? And who are you?"
"You are here. This is where you will stay. I am the keeper."
"What do you mean? Where is 'here?' You don't know what you're doing!"
"Here is here - always and forever. You have no idea of greater things, 45."
"Forty-five! That means you know who I am! I am the President of the United States of America! I demand that you release me at once! I don't know who you are, but you're going to pay for this!"
And the keeper laughed deep inside herself, and let 45 see the scintillation of her eyes, her hearts and her wings. He was beggared by the sudden knowledge that swept through his brain, and then receded like a tidal wave....

Dream
I saw everything with extreme clarity - even myself. I felt alive and vibrant, almost quivering with the energy stored within my body. I was tall, thin, and long-limbed. I was wearing a necklace of glowing opals, with diaphanous veils attached between the jewels - my only clothing. I was clutching - something - in my left hand, as I wandered through a green maze that was much taller me. As I rounded a corner, I heard a very loving and lilting call come from a tall man wearing a tailored tuxedo. He had been sitting in a chair, at a table for two, but was now on his feet, still trilling our love song. "Esssssssss-zoooooooooo-zhaaaaaaaaaaay...." I felt so excited and thrilled by his loving greeting. I tossed the item in my left hand like a frisbee, lofting it over towering green wall. As it left my hand, I realized it was the head of my last lover, whom I had happily consumed after mating. I smiled seductively as I approached this new praying mantis....

I Was Mean, Nasty, Obnoxious - & I Enjoyed It!
The man in the Oval Office scares me. He makes me nervous all the time. When I wake up each morning, I think.... "Well, Boulder has somehow survived the night..." I have finally realized this is the game that makes the orange circus peanut feel powerful and controlling - when he's actually inside an an adult day care center, according to one Republican Senator.
I haven't let myself release any angst in a while - but I did so yesterday evening on the public Boulder bus system. It's 5:30 and a bunch of freshmen (boys and girls) high school students got on the bus two blocks past the station. The boys formed two groups, the wanna-be Ramones in the front, with leather jackets and oiled hair. Jocks and class nerds went into the back. I was sitting across from the mid-bus exit door. Two young girls sat behind me - they both had bad colds and kept coughing and hacking, noisily. They did not cover their mouths, I was was feeling spittle on the back of my neck, after they both coughed twice. The became intense about a very serious discussion - "Did you hear?" - "O! No way!" - and "OMG I just SENT that to HIM!" Thankfully my stop was coming up.
I took out a tissue and wiped the back of my neck, as they coughed on me, again, in unison. Then one said - "OMG - I haven't shaved anywhere in two weeks!" .... Wicked, wicked me..... As I stood up for my stop, I leaned toward them and said, "That isn't something people want to hear on a bus." They looked at each other and they said, in unison, little blue-eyed blond, and brown-eyed black-haired - "Shut up, old cow!"
Ooooops. Wrong button to push on the wrong day at the wrong time.
As I backed out the door, I waved my hand at the two of them, and said, at the top of my powerful voice. "Oh, my Gawd!! You haven't shaved anywhere in over two weeks?!?!?! - That's completely disgusting! Not your pits, or your pubes, or your legs?!?!?! Great Gawd Awmighty, child! - You must look like a baby spiny anteater just growing in it's first quills!"
People were laughing as the door closed behind me - and the girls were scarlet.......

Chincoteague Pony Fall Round-Up
The Fall Round-up of the Chincoteague ponies on the Virginia end of Assateague Island will happen on October 13 and 14 - this Friday and Saturday. Foals that were purchased at the July Pony Auction, but were too young to be weaned from their mothers, will be picked up by their owners. The foals that were designated "Buy-Backs" have been rounded up and placed in the corrals at the Carnival Grounds.
Two other foals have been born since the ponies returned to Assateague, and both were fillies. Galadriel and Wild Thing produced a very splashy girl on 6 August; and Ken and 15 Friends of Freckles had a girl the morning of the solar eclipse, 21 August. Both of these fillies are running with the herds on the northern section of the Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge. I do not know whether they will be sold at this weekend's round-up, or if they will be hold-overs, and sold as (almost) yearlings at next year's Pony Penning. If they are sold at this round-up, the price is, normally, that of the average price of the foals sold in July....
If you purchased a pony, and are going to be on Chincoteague to pick it up, check with the Fire Company and be certain where you need to show up with your trailer - the Carnival Grounds, or the main holding corrals on Assateague.
If you just want to see the ponies - you can see the ten Buy-Backs at the Carnival Grounds. The Southern herds will be rounded up on Friday afternoon and will be at the Beach Road corrals. On Saturday, the northern herds will be rounded up...
I am assuming that most of the stallions and mares that run loose in the northern compartment will be either herded there, or trailered there, so they can return to their usual areas. Seems that the southern compartment is a might crowded, in my opinion...

Death and Life on Assateague Island, Maryland
An injured Assateague pony was reported on the causeway road on Assateague at 8 p.m. Thursday, 5 October. When Park Rangers arrived, Jester, an 18-year-old stallion, was dead. The newspapers report that there was no sign of physical trauma, so the rangers are assuming the stallion died from "massive internal trauma" (from being struck by a vehicle). Jester has roamed the causeway area, with his single mare, Dee's Heart, since 2004. He will be missed. (And I hope that Dee's Heart will find a new group to stay with soon...)
Jester rising from a nap on the beach. (Please, if you took this photo, let me know in the comments section, so I can give you the appropriate credit!)
But there have also been two recent arrivals - on 20 September, Dr. Jay and Bayberry welcomed a new filly:

And on 2 October, Gokey Go Bones and Yankee produced a filly of their own - and she looks a lot like her daddy!
Ann Richardson took both shots of the latest baby...
And the Eclipse baby, out of Johnny's Star, by Chip, is growing like mad. She's shedding her baby fur, with a much darker undercoat showing, which is causing a lot of comments from visitor's who believe she is ill...

Quotes From the Moron-in-Chief - Part 1
It's so very sad that this man was chosen by the Electoral College as the President of the United States of America. Remember - he lost by more than 3 million popular votes.
8 October 2017 - "I think one of the greatest of all terms I've come up with is 'fake.' I guess other people have used it, perhaps, over the years, but I've never noticed it." - He calls any news organization that reports unflattering stories on his administration 'fake news.'
May 2017 - In an interview with The Economist, the man claimed to have invented the term 'priming the pump,' claiming he "came up with it a couple of days ago and I thought it was good." The term 'priming the pump' has been in the dictionary since 1931.
3 November 2016 - "I'm also honored to have the greatest temperament that anybody has."
17 December 2016 - "China steals United States Navy research drone in international waters - rips it out of water and takes it to China in unpresidented act."
19 October 2016 - "Nobody respects women more than me." Three minutes later: "Such a nasty woman." - At the third presidential debate.
26 September 2016 - "That makes me smart." - In response to Hillary Clinton's suggestion that he pays no Federal Income tax.
26 September 2016 - "Hillary Clinton... started the birther controversy. I finished it."
28 February 2016 - Tweeting a quote from fascist Italian dictator Benito Mussolini - "It is better to live one day as a lion than to live 100 years as a sheep."
16 March 2016 - To Joe Scarborough, when asked who he frequently asks for comments on foreign policy - "I'm speaking with myself, number one, because I have a very good brain and I've said a lot of things."
"The beauty of me is that I'm very rich."
"Women: You have to treat them like shit."
"You know, it doesn't matter what they (the media) write as long as you've got a young and beautiful piece of ass."
"If Hillary Clinton can't satisfy her husband, what makes her think she can satisfy America?"
27 October 2016 - Speaking of himself in the third person - "We should just cancel the election and just give it to Trump."
6 September 2016 - Asked about his stance on foreign policy in the Middle East: "Iraq and Iran were very similar militarily, and they'd fight, fight, fight, and then they'd rest. They'd fight, fight, fight, and then Saddam Hussein would do the gas, and then somebody else would do something else, and then they'd rest."
13 August 2016 - Admitting lying, but claiming he would NOT do such a thing to an 18-year-old cancer patient in the audience - "I might lie to you like Hillary does all the time, but I'll never lie to Giacomo, okay?"
May the Gods protect us!

Puerto Rico, Las Vegas ...... and him
So, while people are dying for lack of supplies, and medicines
in Puerto Rico, a US Territory;
and a Mayor is requesting life-saving relief in an American city;
we have a mass murderer in Las Vegas, shooting people like fish in a barrel;
and, then there's, the orange turd in chief, golfing at a resort he owns,
on the American taxpayer's dime, and claiming that Puerto Rico doesn't
earn it's share of US revenue, and that it's people won't do anything to help themselves.
I hope he's struck by a bolt of lightning!
Woe Is Me....
I've been taking care of a house where I have no internet connection, so my apologies for not blogging sooner. What the heck is going on in our world today?
We - the United States - has been dealing with the hurricane natural disasters in Texas, Louisiana, Florida, Georgia, the US Virgin Islands, and in Puerto Rico. Now there's a seemingly rational, older man, aged 64, who stands up in two 32nd-story windows at a hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada, and he shoots freely, using an automatic weapon, into a crowd of 22,000 people gathered for a Sunday night music festival. As the police have said, "it was like shooting fish in a barrel."
I am so very angry! And there is no one thing, no one person, no one place that I can direct my anger toward. I am also incredibly sad. To realize that, so far, 59 unique individuals have lost their life to a single gunman. A man who killed and injured hundreds of people, who, apparently, turned a gun upon himself, and chested people out of answers to their questions.... Why that night? Why those people? Why shoot anyone? What was he feeling? What reason had he to perform such a gruesome exercise?
When I sat down to type this, the death count was at 59, with 527 other people being treated or hospitalized, for gunshot wounds, shrapnel wounds, and trample and stampede damages to their bodies. It just seems so incredible to me. I can not understand wanting to kill, injure, maim and frighten people. It is just beyond my imagination.
I will be mentioning the ignorant, pompous ass who is now residing in the White House. I cannot avoid it, even though I wish I could totally ignore him. He, and his evil ilk, are showing me who my real friends are. People I have known for 55 years or more are slowly being removed from my friends list - people I grew up with and cared about. But they are now people who run around shouting, "Fake News!," and carrying on about "Killary -" wake up. people, the election was over 10 months ago. Your doggie nugget is in charge - and America is sinking fast. I shared a British newspaper article saying that Three-Star General Buchanan says that the devastation he has seen in Puerto Rico is the worst he's ever seen - even Katrina, where he worked as a logistics adviser. One of my (now former) friends has sent up a wail that the entire article, quotes, and photos are "Fake News!"
I am sorry to tell you, honey, that the current White House administration seeds, reaps, and sows all of it's own fake news, with quite a bit of help from Russia, the Kremlin, and Vladimir Putin.
I hope that I am never in the presence of the 45th Idiot. I wouldn't be able to decide whether to urinate on him, fart on him, defecate on him, spit on him, or set him on fire....
He is killing our great country with his sheer idiocy, his lack of compassion and feeling, and his desire to make a Big Bang with North Korea. We might be facing the end of the world as we know it.

Photographs - and Feelings
Every single person on this earth is betrayed by someone, at some point in time, in some little (or, sometimes big) way. It is the consequence of being a human being, of trying to be nice and pleasant and respectful to everyone (if you were raised that way, like me); or it's the consequence of always telling the literal truth, no matter how hurtful. Each of us is an individual, and we all have individual beliefs of right and wrong, of fairness and unfairness, of following the rules, or breaking them. I try to follow most rules - but I occasionally break them through ignorance, I openly admit that.
I admit that I love to look at photographs - whether I took them or not. I used to have boxes upon boxes of photos from Chincoteague and Assateague Islands - photos of ponies, all things to do with Pony Penning, friends, family, homes and familiar sights and places. I lost all of those, including childhood book and old family photos fourteen years ago.
Family members have shared a few old photos with me, but I have taken a lot of photos straight from the images pages of both Yoohoo and Google search engines, and, in the last five years from Facebook shares. I also purchase photos from dealers on line. I have personally taken over 7,000 photos in the last fourteen years, and I have them on memory cards and memory sticks and in my personal computer. I also have a lot of photos that other folks have taken over the past 100 years or so - photos that caught my fancy, or showed something I'd seen and remembered - or were just great, artistic photos.
For the past three to five years, I have tried to identify the source of every photo I post on my blog - I do not cut off views of copyright indicators, such as names of the photographers, or studio names. People are apparently stealing photos to use for personal gains, and cutting off copyright information from the photographic views. I have never done so - and I will not do so. I have never sold any photos from my blog or my Facebook postings. During the past year, I have tried to post who took various photos that I use, or, if they are just on an image page, I leave everything blank, other than a description.
I have been particularly happy to share photos taken by Deb Iddings Noll; by Beached Paws Photography; by Patty Ann (Vamvas) McMahon; by Allan Sklar; by Gina Aguilera, author of the book (and app) Identifying Chincoteague Ponies; by a lot of other people, whom I try to give credit to; and by DSC Photography. I have tried to emphasize that the photos by these people are for sale, and I try to list how to contact them, when I utilize their photos - via their websites, or via Facebook.
I know that I have sent at least 100 paying customers to DSC Photography's site, and to the shop that sells their photos on Chincoteague. So, now, I'm going to complain about my own "hurt feelings." I belonged to multiple Facebook pages that shared photos of Chincoteague ponies - but no more. I posted, on Facebook, that I had completed the blog page about the Chincoteague Pony Auction, showing photos of the foals on Assateague, and at the Auction, and listing the names of sires, dams, and the amount the foal was sold for.
I did this on very little sleep, and I thanked DSC Photography for using the photos that they had taken at the end of the blog. I started getting nasty comments immediately because I didn't recognize all of the people who had taken the photos. I asked folks to identify their photos, and I thanked them and identified them before the photo section began.
The next day, I was removed from access to six Facebook sites that have one of the two owners of DSC Photography as page administrators. I have been essentially black-balled from all but four Chincoteague Facebook sites. - But - and I had to laugh - DSC Photography kept my 5-Star review of their business and website on the top of their page. (I deleted it myself 6 weeks after the black-balling began.)
I apologize, again, profusely, to any and all photographers whom I have harmed in any way, or have "ruffled their feathers." Watermarks and copyright marks are easily available and easy to apply to your photos before they are posted anywhere. I tried to point viewers to purchase legitimate copies of the photos that are/were copyrighted.
If I post and share one of your photos, it's because I believe it is beautiful and should be shared with those other people who will appreciate it.
