I spent my formative summers wandering the islands of Chincoteague and Assateague by foot, bicycle, and, occasionally, pony. I also spent several more years there as an adult. My Mother was born and raised here, and her family traces back to the 1640s in this area. I guess that's why I love it - it's in my blood.
