I finished watching another episode of Gotham... the latest episodes are much better than the first two of this season, but I still don't like the reporter, Valerie Vale. Benedict Samuel was perfectly cast as Jervis Tetch, the Mad Hatter; and I am truly enjoying his performances. Poor Penguin! Finally deciding that he loves Ed Nygma, and then Ed meets a doppelganger of Kris Kringle - Penguin will be crushed, I'm sure...
Also enjoying The Blacklist this season. I want to know what happens to Mr Kaplan, since she is chained to the foot of her iron bedframe... And I just wish they'd find Agnes and get her back to Elizabeth, so other stories will continue... I have to admit that I don't care who Elizabeth's father really is - Red or Kirk. I absolutely love James Spader, but the rest of the characters, other than Dembe, are becoming a real drag.
Just finished reading Boar Island, Winter's Child, and The Obsidian Chamber. Have started on The Legacy of Gird, then have three more Eight Kingdoms novels ready. After that, I'll need to visit the library again. - I've lived at this address for over a year now, and have received books from every club that I'm a member of. I was, therefore, quite surprised that my last order was, somehow, sent to my previous address. I received confirmation that it was delivered, and declared it missing; then actually looked and saw that it had been dropped off at my old address. Of course the new tenant and the management claim to have never seen the package of books. I'll have to order them again, and pay for them again, since they were to be Christmas presents... I can't believe that I was so stupid as to not be certain that my shipping address was correct. Now I double-check it each time I order anything.
And I move in with Rosie on Wednesday... We'll have a blast together, and I'll make certain she's comfortable and happy... She's such a wonderful girl.

Disappointed With Gotham
I was looking forward to the first episode of the new season of Gotham with anticipation last night. I came away disappointed. I realize that there are quite a number of characters to follow, now, on Gotham - but the first episode skipped around so much and dealt with so many issues left hanging at the end of the season, that it seemed as if the writers/story tellers just cuffed up a pair of pants and headed off for the next pattern and cloth. The death of Miss Peabody was not unexpected, but the whole scene seemed rushed - as did most of the other scenes. It was not a glorious season premiere. And I greatly dislike the new female character - the reporter. The whole show left a bad taste in my mouth last night. If the next two episodes are not better than last night's, I'll stop watching the show altogether.
I'll watch the two shows from tonight during tomorrow afternoon - I need to see if NCIS will continue to be worth watching, and I need to check out Bull, Michael Weatherly's new show. Thursday night will find me watching The Blacklist, and Friday night I'll see Blue Bloods.
My most impatient wait is for the next episodes of Vikings, which won't begin until 30 November. I've read translations of the eddas, so I don't believe I'll be too surprised... But I have to admit being delighted that Bjorn Ironsides has contracted with Floki to build the new boat to explore the "Inner" (Mediterranean) Sea. Michael Hirst, the writer for Vikings, is keeping me very happy.

Not Much....
Boulder had mostly sunny skies yesterday, and a lot of the snow on the ground melted or evaporated away. I awoke to bright sunshine this morning - which was very strange: the kits let me sleep in and I forgot to turn my alarm clock on last night. I checked to be sure the alarm was set for the correct time, but then I, apparently, did not turn the thing on... Oh, well. It;s now completely overcast outside and we've had snow flurries falling since I arose at 6:30. I had a great time with Rosie yesterday, and I think she enjoyed our hour outside immensely, except when a fir tree dumped a large amount of snow on us both. Rosie jumped forward, shook herself, and then gave me a very reproachful look. I don't think she realized I was in the middle of dusting myself off, too. It was funny, looking back.
On Sunday night, I watched the premiere episode of Battle Creek - only because Dean Winters is one of the stars of the show. I loved his character, Detective Russ Agnew, and I loved his lines; the guy who plays opposite him was not very likeable, which I suppose is the way the show is written - but I would have been happy to have seen the show without him. Dean Winters, however, was fantastic - it seemed as if he carried the whole show on his shoulders. I also enjoyed seeing Gotham last night. The story lines are very twisted, there is a surprise in every episode, and I always want to see more...
I started reading Two Graves last night, and had a hard time putting the book down for the night. Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child have formed an unbeatable team in writing about Special Agent A. X. L. Pendergast, and Gideon; and, indeed, all of their books. I have a copy of each of their books and re-visit them frequently. They are great!!!

Surprise on Gotham
Jada Pinkett-Smith's character, Fish Mooney, completely freaked me out last night on Gotham. Knowing how Fish refuses to back down, I should have been expecting the outcome that occurred, but it certainly was shocking. I did not, in any way, think she would scoop her own eye out with a spoon and then step on it, to prevent it from being transplanted, It took my breath away. Wow. That is one determined woman!
Am home for a few minutes - the kits have been outside and are back in, now - it's 18 degrees outside. I'm on my way over to Bop and Tiko's, then to Rosie's and then on to the ABCs for the rest of the day. Halfway through reading Ruler of the Realm, and am taking the two following books along. Then I have one more Pendergast novel and I'm caught up again. I am very happy that the library will begin opening at 9 in the morning, instead of 10, next week. Of course, if I had my way, public libraries would be open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week... Even though they would need to be patrolled to keep folks from camping inside....
More tomorrow!
