Foal 53 Is Here - Plus Photos of Other Foals In the CNWR

Foal fifty-three arrived on June 5, along with two others. The 53rd baby is a filly out of Shy Anne (also known as Half 'n' Half) and was sired by (probably) Ajax, but possibly by Neptune. (Neptune hasn't had any documented foals in about 3 years - he covers and breeds the mares, but no babies appear, so we believe that he's become sterile.)

Foal 52 is out of Black Pearl and sired by Maverick - a solid black filly...

Foal 4 - a filly is the first Misty of Chincoteague descendant born

in the wild on Assateague; out of Moon, by Don Leonard Stud II

Foal 7 - a buckskin colt; out of Miracle's Natural Beauty,

sired by Tornado's Legacy

Foal 37 - a colt; out of Friendly Girl (aka Witch Kraft).

sired by Chief Golden Eagle

Foal 39 - a filly born at the Carnival Grounds; out of Judy's Little Smooch,

sired by Tornado's Legacy

Foal 45 - a colt; out of Randy, sired by Surfer's Riptide

Foal 50 - a colt; out of Poco's Starry Night, sired by Riptide

Two More Chincoteague Pony Foals

On Saturday afternoon, Randy was spotted with a new black pinto foal, which is foal number 45. The sire is Surfer's Riptide; sex is yet unknown:

This morning, Milly Sue, a two-year-old filly, out of Leah's Bayside Angel and sired by Riptide, had a bay pinto colt at her side. (This is foal number 46.) The probable sire is the Dons Leonard Stud II, but the sire could also be Beach Boy (Saltwater Renegade), CLG ToMorrow's Tidewater Twist, or Henry's Hidalgo...

2017 Chincoteague Pony Foals 51 through 60

These are photos from different sources and people, some are copyrighted (mainly by Darcy and Steve Cole, owners of DSC Photography of Greenbackville, Virginia), some are not. Copyrighted photos are always marked so.
The names in quotation marks after the sex id are my personal names for the foals - of course, whoever actually purchases the babies will give them their registered names - but this helps me keep them straight....
The photos are also NOT arranged chronologically - I just try to choose shots that give a good view of markings on each side, as well as a facial shot... Sometimes a butt shot will be included because of bulls-eyes or tail markings - a half-color tail, or a tipped tail, etc...
