Viking Clothing by Re-Encators

If things I write seem a trifle terse today, it's because I'm still trying to accept that a close friend of mine has six months or so left of her life, and because I still have a terrible headache (possibly hangover?) from a marijuana party that was held in the apartment diagonally across the hall from me.  Even though the hallway, lobby, and outside areas reeked of cannabis smoke, since the folks were smoking "inside their walls" I couldn't lodge a complaint.  My hall door is a very loose fit - I can see light around all four sides of the door when my lights are out - and that smoke drifted into my apartment until after 2 this morning.... Yuck.

The Bayeaux Tapestry shows a Norman longboat used by William the Conqueror and his soldiers when they arrived in England to wrest the throne from King Harald.  Norman is a corruption of the words Norseman and Northman - the Vikings.  William was a direct descendant of Rollo, the Viking.

The Liber Vitae manuscript from Winchester, England shows the only period depiction of a Viking - King Canute (Cnut) and Queen Emma (Alfgy).
