Victor, the fourth Canada goose victim, died last night. I really hope those young men are made to learn a true lesson about life - after so happily destroying four. Sorry to start off on such a grim note, but that information has just been released by the Longmont police, and I am ticked off. .... On top of that, Remy seemed to be pretty good yesterday afternoon, but he had much more stiffness as the evening progressed, so he had to go visit the chiropractor this morning. Letting him slip on the ice was an accident yesterday, but I still feel badly about it. .... And I can't seem to satisfy Lovey today - she walks back and forth between me and the monitor, wrapping her tail around my glasses so that they shift during each pass, and talking at the top of her lungs. She has food, water, clean litter boxes, toys, catnip and treats. But she wants me to ignore everything else and concentrate totally on her. I know that she was spoiled by being bottle-fed and hand raised after the death of her mom, but some days it makes me want to pull my hair out. Grouse, grouse, grouse..... sorry....
It was a beautiful day - the sun was shining, there were a few clouds, and it was 50 degrees when I got up. The winds have slowly increased during the day, while the temperatures have very slowly fallen. We're expecting snow flurries in the morning, and about three inches of snow overnight Saturday. The Broncos' first playoff game in 6 years will kick off at 2:30 Sunday, and they already have tarps covering the field (to keep the snow off), and the high on Sunday is expected to be about 32 degrees. Broncos against the Pittsburgh Steelers: minus UF's starting center Maurkice Pouncey for the Steelers; minus starting defensive corner Brian Dawkins for the Broncos.
One good bit of news. This past Saturday in Montana, an avalanche occurred. The people were able to ski out of the path of the snow-boom, but Ole, a Welsh Corgi, was lost. He was searched for, but hope was given up after 3 days. Late on the fourth day, Ole appeared at the motel where his family was staying. He was cold, hungry and dehydrated - but he had survived the avalanche, and had made it back to the motel that was more than 4 miles away from that site. Good on you, Ole!
