It's 52 degrees outside, the wind is calm, and the sun is gleaming - what a nice day! I walked Finn early this morning, having taken out the trash for pick up, and we had a great time. At 10, I walked Rosie and Remy, being careful after Remy's slip and fall last Thursday. His owners told me he had fallen down the stairs last night, and weren't going to have me walk him, just take Rosie. But Remy was so eager to go, that the owners relented. We had a slow, but steady, 55 minute walk, and Remy was fine throughout. I did have to keep slowing Rosie down, but that was OK. She ran free for 5 minutes in the Snow back yard and had a ball. My kits have loved all over me and are now outside, enjoying the sun.
In the AFC Wild Card Playoffs yesterday, the Pittsburgh Steelers were favored to beat the Broncos by 9 points. One of the Broncos' best defensive players was out of the game with an injury, and in the first quarter, one of the wide receivers was lost with a torn ACL. (And reports abounded that the Broncos' quarterback was someone who could not throw passes.) The Steelers got two field goals in the first quarter, while Denver did not score. In the second quarter, Denver scored two touchdowns and two field goals, while Pittsburgh did not score. In the second half, the Steelers slowly made up missed points, and then passed the Broncos with a field goal (23-20). Matt Prater kicked a Broncos field goal to tie the score. Bingo. Over time.
The Broncos won the toss and elected to receive. Steelers kicked a touch back, and so the first play of over time was at the 20 yard line, with the goal 80 yards away. The Broncos won the game by a touch down, taking 11 seconds off the clock. (The Steelers had beaten the Broncos in their last Playoff game exactly six years ago.) Broncos now play the New England Patriots Saturday.... Go orange and blue Mile-High Broncos! (Yippee!!!) I think everyone will get tired of seeing the Tebow pass to Thomas, who stiff-arms Ike Taylor and then just runs.......
