Yesterday and today look gorgeous. The sky is a clear, cool blue; birds are singing; squirrels are playing; Lovey and Nedi are on the patio catching a few rays... I have found out that 16 of the 31 felony convictions against Charles R Smith III were for writing bad checks; I have no idea what the other 15 convictions were for. Hopefully, folks in Accomack County, Virginia can now draw a deep breath of relief.
A friend and I were commenting on the success of "Vikings," the show on the History Channel. We know that most of the filming was done in Ireland, as Norway has no incentives to offer TV and cinema crews. Then we started discussing how many folks appearing in the cast looked like, or actually were, Scandinavian. The cast credits list 24 characters - one, Gustaf Skarsgard (Floki) is Swedish, and one supporting actor, Jouko Ahola (Kauko) is a Finn; Ragnar Lodbrok is portrayed by an Australian, and Leif is played by a Czech-Canadian; three of the cast are Canadian, seven are Irish, and the other ten are English. I will guess that a lot of the other, unnamed actors and actresses are mostly Irish... I realize that all of these folks probably have some Norse blood somewhere in their backgrounds, but it seems funny to have only two actual Scandinavians in the cast.
